I need more infos and more pictures to make an opinion about this car, but the 'ultra-clean, domestically-available natural gas' sounds good :)

You mean as long as I just drive it down the block to the El Paso restaurant for a burrito and refried beans, I can power the car myself?

I work in the oil and gas fields in Western Colorado and am very happy to see a car company bring a CNG vehicle to mass market.
Natural Gas is becoming a major industry in this area and there are just unbelievable known reserves and more are being found everyday. We could dramatically reduce our dependence upon foreign oil if you all would help to support candidates that will encourage domestic production. This means that Hillary is not an option. She has been and promises to continue to be opposed to expanding domestic production. This leaves us at the mercy of our failing foreign policies. We must continue to find and encourage clean, earth friendly fuels and right now, compressed natural gas is a very viable source of clean energy. Not to mention that it can continue to provide a dramatic boost to the greater economy.
The best part about CNG is that even current internal cumbustion vehicles (like the one you drive) can be fairly easily converted to run on CNG.

how is natural gas extracted?
is the method safe for the earth.
i travel to Mexico often. I hate the way they have mined their precious land with NO REGARD FOR NATURE.
Is natural gas a better alternative (for the earth) to solar powered of battery powered?

An individual could almost make an NGV work as a city car where I live (Phoenix area) if he or she worked or lived near one of the few places selling NG to individuals. But the local Honda dealer offered no hope that it'll be sold here. And I was disappointed to learn the NGV doesn't offer all that much benefit in terms of CO2 emissions.

CO2 is the myth part of global warming. There is no direct link whatsoever.
Running to work would produce more CO2 than driving a CNG powered car.
And they can be filled up anywhere that you have natural gas. Most homes in the country are already supplied with natural gas.
This is a no brainer.
CNG is not the end all be all. But on the way to the perfect fuel, it is 1000 times better than current alternatives that are actually viable.

If you want something more substantial than that provided by the Big Oil/utilities viral marketing machine, here's information on CNG/C02 from an industry group. It's consistent with other information I've seen. It's only a small decrease in CO2 output.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought must living creatures produce carbon dioxide (CO2) as a by product. However, most things that burn (including gas, oils, even paper and wood) don't combust completely and form carbon monoxide (CO) which is the more dangerous greenhouse gas.

"Zero emissions" is a lie, it should be understood and underscored. CNG is a carbon-based organic fuel, the weight of which is mostly from the carbon. The weight of a gallon of gasoline can be readily appreciated, but the fact that CNG is a gas can not obscure the fact that the weight per mile of travel will be similar.

Hello,
first I'd like to emphasize that I appreciate the efforts of the car industry to build more environmentally friendly cars. Natural gas might be an answer to global warming, but not the only one. The first natural gas station opened here in Europe (Germany) in about the year 2000. At first the NG has been highly financially supported and you could even earn money with your car by driving with advertisements saying that you drive with NG. But the financial support is decreasing now and it is foreseeable that we will soon pay the same price for NG as benzine. Meanwhile there are some cars on the roads equipped with a NG engine or bi-fuel engine, but it's still not enough to make a dramatic change for our environment. By the way, I doubt the statement of producing more CO2 by running than by driving by car. Furthermore NG might be ONE answer of not polluting our environment. Take a look at Brazil. They drive with ethanol made from sugar cane or hydrogen engines that exhaust water.

Being able to fill up with CNG is all fine n dandy,.. but what if you're going on a trip? I havn't seen any gas stations sell CNG.

Nice Car! The baby steps toward a better environment from auto makers are a bit disappointing...maybe this car would have been better 80 years ago before we completely destroyed the planet. Not sure about the nature references? But i have seen rodents and insects living in old rubber tires(that will never decay). Maybe someday we will invent tires and engines made from birdseed and cotton candy.

groingo, We are working very hard to make CNG more affordable. In fact, I would venture to guess that it is much more affordable than you may have thought. Particularly since crude is sky high and the extremely low emissions of CNG combustion is just the right thing to do. We are really ramping up production and the price around here has been cut in half in the last year alone as supply has begun to exceed demand.
Just work with your local politicians and businessmen to encourage them to install pump stations in your area. Many of these new vehicles also have the ability to be filled right at your home using a compressor and the existing natural gas supply to your house.
