It's time to start taking a good look at these cars with oil approaching the 100 dollar per barrel mark.

The Ford Airstream is ugly. I don't know why so many 'green cars' have to be ugly. The Corolla looks very good, and Honda is good too. But the Toyota FT-HS is great, IMO.

They dont really need to be ugly , you can even really use your own car and save up to 50% gas... the problem is that your government hate that... even though is very easy to do.

Just wait till people have to start buying new batteries for these, they are in for a shock!

All these do is move the pollution and energy demands to something that is not monitored as well. So far I haven't seen any hybrid that has improved pollution or efficiency.

Green, high-MPG cars, vans and suvs have been available for years - just not in the US. They are blocked from import here, by the gummint.

GM sells a van in China that gets 40 MPG and goes for $5,000.

It's not fast, but so what? If they can do it in China, they can do it here.

Now they just need to come up with a chip to produce the throaty sounds of dual-tuned exhaust and manza' on EV's. Perhaps just INSIDE the vehicles for a change - while they're at it.

I have been driving a Toyota Prius for almost 4 years. My Prius now has 100,000 miles on it and it is a GREAT car. Because we had such a great experience with the Prius, we just bought a Camry Hybrid this week.

I am now looking forward to being able to get a Honda FCX someday. If it were available now, we probably would have bought one.

What I want to know is: Why didn't some US auto manufacturer make a car like the Prius? It can hardly be because there is no market. There are millions driving in the US every day. I really wish the US gov't would push the auto manufacturers to do the right thing...

Consider the pollution your are making, it has just moved to somewhere else. Batteries manufacturing leaves some really nasty stuff around.

Indeed I do consider that. I think it is not correct that pollution generated to create the batteries is equal to the emissions saved by driving the PZEV. (I do not have the numbers in front of me just now.)

Moreover, approx. 1 year ago I actually moved to a different house so that I my commute to work went from 50 miles each way to less than 5 miles each way now. That is actually part of a different story. When I first took the job, I specifically took the job I took so that I could ride public transportation to work. And I did for several years. Then, my employer closed the office in which I worked and I had to start commuting 100 miles a day. That's when I bought the Prius.

When my daughter completed High School, then I moved so that I would reduce my commute dramatically. I'd like to use public transit, but there is none that goes near my current office.

American Mfrs are coming up with some great looking, great feeling and better driving GREEN cars that then japanese imports.. That's awesome.. The Honda/Toyota produsts are pretty ugly.. Green or not green, I didn't like being in a Prius of those, didn't feel safe.. And had no go whatsoever..

I want that Hydro BMW 7 Series as soon as they release those..
